Canada-based all-cargo carrier Cargojet acquired a ground handling company located onsite at Mirabel Airport (YMX) in Québec as part of the company’s strategy to in-source its Canadian ground handling operations.
The CAD $3 million purchase of the unnamed company includes all assets and existing real estate agreements.
Although formerly a major international airport, YMX transitioned into an all-cargo airport following the opening of a new passenger terminal at Montréal–Trudeau (YUL). Today the airport is home to integrators such as DHL, FedEx, Purolator, and the carriers that fly on their behalf.
Cargojet operates an expanding fleet comprising primarily of 767Fs, most of which operate are operate in overnight express service throughout Canada.
